Funnyman Kevin Nealon, who grew up in Bridgeport’s North End and graduated from St. Joseph High School in Trumbull and Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, will be returning to Bridgeport for four stand-up performances at the Stress Factory Comedy Club on Friday and Saturday, July 12 and 13.

The 65-year-old Nealon has enjoyed a long and varied career with many highlights, including a memorable nine-season stint, from 1986-95, on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” numerous film roles and a current starring gig on the Matt LeBlanc CBS’ sitcom “Man with a Plan.”

“I love Connecticut and the bunch of friends I have there. And Bridgeport will always have a place in my heart,” Nealon told Hearst Connecticut Media prior to an appearance in the area a few years back. His humor, he said then, runs the gamut from observational to family life. “I used to be pretty laid-back in voice and style doing stand-up,” he said. “Now, I think, I’m a lot more energized.”

Stress Factory Comedy Club, 167 State St., Bridgeport. Friday and Saturday, July 12-13, 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. $45, $25. 203-576-4242.
