Boston-raised people-rock singer/songwriter Jonatha Brooke (formerly of the duo The Story) will participate in a demonstrate at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Middle in Previous Saybrook Thursday, May well 23.
Brooke was between a group of solo voice talents these as Sheryl Crow, Shawn Colvin and Mary Chapin Carpenter who emerged in the 1990s with robust/quirky mindset, bouncy tunes and often thorny lyrics. You could possibly remember Brooke’s song “Linger” in 2001 her most recent EP is called “Imposter” on Bad Canine Information.
“I explored a number of different themes on ‘Imposter’ — emotion like the emperor with no garments, a very cinematic excursion into revenge, that at any time current struggle with religion and reduction,” explained Brooke in a push release.
