WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump’s eldest son will meet with the Senate intelligence committee Wednesday powering closed doors, according to two people today familiar with the conference.
The persons requested anonymity since they weren’t authorized to examine the private interview. The conference with Donald Trump Jr. comes soon after the committee’s Republican chairman, North Carolina Sen. Richard Burr, subpoenaed him as portion of the panel’s Russia investigation.
Burr been given significant blowback from some of his GOP colleagues for the shift, but he advised fellow senators that Trump Jr. experienced backed out of an job interview twice, forcing the committee to act.

John Cornyn of Texas, a GOP member of the panel, said he recognized Trump Jr.’s stress. Cornyn’s Texas colleague, Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, reported there was “no need” for the subpoena.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has defended Burr, saying “none of us tell Chairman Burr how to operate his committee.”
However, McConnell made it clear that he is eager to be concluded with the probe, which has now absent on for far more than two a long time.
