Comic-Con 2019 kicked off Wednesday night with a glitzy, Batman-themed event at the new Comic-Con Museum that would have manufactured the Caped Crusader’s alter moi happy.
The sold-out occasion was a fundraiser for the potential museum, which is housed in the aged Corridor of Champions in Balboa Park. It also was the first main function at the museum and it began as supporters ended up lining up to enter the San Diego Convention Heart to enter Comic-Con’s Preview Night time.
“This is extremely interesting for us due to the fact it is basically a whole costume rehearsal of what we want the Comedian-Con Museum to be,” said Adam Smith, the museum’s govt director.
Dubbed “The Collecting,” the function also served to induct Batman as the initial character in what will be the museum’s Hall of Fame.
A batcave was created in the bottom flooring of the museum. There were costumes and props from a variety of Batman videos, Batman video clip video games and pinball machines, giant handles of landmark Batman comics, a batsignal and a batmobile.
The induction ceremony highlighted artists and actors, like David Mazouz, who played the younger Bruce Wayne in the latest “Gotham” television exhibit. Jim Lee, publisher and main resourceful officer of DC, Batman’s comics publisher, accepted an award for the induction of Batman into the Corridor of Fame.
“What seriously makes him a hero is what can make anybody a hero, it’s about earning a distinction,” stated Lee.
The fundraiser attracted a host of San Diego VIPs, which includes Mayor Kevin Faulconer and numerous Metropolis Council associates, NBA Hall of Famer Bill Walton and former Law enforcement Main Shelley Zimmerman.
To honor the Darkish Knight, fans were dressed in tuxedos and glittering attire. Other folks arrived dressed as Batman people, like the Penguin, The Joker and Harley Quinn.

Ralph Bufano, a museum consultant who is advising Comic-Con on its museum, stated it is poised for success.
